Cinderella Kids Homework

 

HOMEWORK DUE 11/2

Take time to rehearse ALL music & choreography with rehearsal tracks prior to our next rehearsal. Students grades 4-8 should also review all lines (practice projecting!) and blocking. 

A few additional rehearsal videos are included below. All other rehearsal videos can be found by scrolling down to the 10/26 homework posting.

HOMEWORK DUE 10/26

We've made it through the entire show! Yay! Now it's time to put everything together. We will do a run through of the entire show on Friday, Oct 26. All students must be completely off-book (memorized lines, songs & movement) by then.

Grades 1-3 (Mice + McKenna)

  • Please sing along with Bibbidi Boppity tracks (with and without vocals). 

  • Make sure all music is completely memorized. Use the provided tracks to rehearse vocals. You MUST practice singing while moving. We are still dropping vocals when choreography/staging is added. Mice sing the following songs: “The Tale of Cinderella”, "Work Song", "Work Song (Reprise), "Bibbidi Boppity"  “Cinderella Finale”, “Bibbidi Bows”. Music for all songs can be found HERE

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING:
  • Review the NEW "Bibbidi Boppity" Staging Video. Make sure to sing! 

  • Watch the "Bows" video and pay attention to Ms. Richelle. She is doing your part! 

Grades 4-8

MUSIC HOMEWORK:
  • Make sure all music is completely memorized. You MUST practice singing while moving. We are still dropping vocals choreography/staging is added. The FULL CAST sings “The Tale of Cinderella”, “Cinderella Finale”, “Bibbidi Bows”. Cinderella and Fairy Godmother make sure your songs are memorized and performed in character! 

  • ALL NARRATORS: Review “Work Song”, “Work Song Reprise”  & "Bibbidi" music (you need to memorize these!)

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING:
  • Review any staging that was done today and don't forget to keep exploring your characters at home! 

    • Stepsisters - use track called "The Dress 2" to practice the timing of dress ripping. 
  • Review NEW "Bows" video + continue to rehearse your movement in all other songs, while singing! 

    • Ivy - please watch Laura for your bows timing (she is with other featured dancers)

HOMEWORK DUE 10/19

We are halfway through our rehearsal process and at this point have worked on almost every part of the script. Now is the time to memorize, memorize, memorize! We will do a run through of the entire show on Friday, Oct 26 and need all students completely off-book by then at the latest.

At the bottom of this homework page, you will find a list of line cuts and assignments. All students Grades 4-8 should review and mark things that apply to them in their scripts.

Grades 1-3 (Mice + McKenna)

MUSIC HOMEWORK:

There are now tracks available online both with and without vocals. Please practice with both to review music timing and get yourself comfortable singing on your own!

  • Practice singing both “Work Song” & “Reprise” while doing all your movements. Try to remember exactly where in the music you move (i.e. on what word do I shake hands with the person next to me?) Don’t forget to think ahead and be listening for your cues to transition (i.e marching back on Luke’s scissors line)!

  • CHANGES TO PARTS:
    • All mice will now sing “tie a sash around it, put a ribbon through it. While dancing at the ball she’ll be more beautiful then all in the lovely dress will make for Cinderelly”. Please review this part at home several times!

    • Luke (Dani) - your solo has been changed to “you go and get those scissors”

  • Review tracks for all songs Mice will sing in addition to above songs: “The Tale of Cinderella”, “Cinderella Finale”, “Bibbidi Bows”

Please continue to practice with videos and tracks from last week! It’s time to memorize any movement, music and dialogue for sections we’ve worked on.

  • Memorize “Cinderella Dream Finale”. Practice spitting out words with precision (song is very fast!) and clean cut-offs when singing with track. Group solos at beginning of song below:

    • Beginning to “dancing and adventure” - Ella & Genesis

    • “We got to meet prince charming” - Stepfamily

    • “Who’s very very handsome!” - King, Duchess & Fairy Godmother

  • Listen to “A Tale of Cinderella” rehearsal track to prepare for next week

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING:
  • Review blocking to “Cinderella Dream Finale”

  • Master the following dance steps by practicing with breakdown video then increasing speed:

    • step -  ball change - step - heel

    • step - ball change - step - ball change -  box step (step-cross-step-step).

  • Listen to “Work Song” and “Work Song Reprise” to prepare for next week

Grades 4-8

Please continue to familiarize yourself with the script. It’s not too early to memorize lines & lyrics! NOTE: Narrators/Town Criers should look at ALL Narrator/Town Crier lines.  Line will be assigned as we block the scenes.

  • ALL: Memorize lines and review blocking for Ball Scene/ Midnight Minuet (pages 38-41)

  • PRINCE/CINDERELLA:  Review ballroom dance to “So This is Love” track

    • Practice swaying and make sure not to stay centered - step side to side only, not back

    • Look UP, not at your feet

    • Practice ballroom stance: shoulders up, chin high, arms strong.

  • FAIRY GODMOTHER: Review Bibbidi rehearsal track, preliminary staging and practice physicality (confident gliding, toe-heel walking, etc)


 

Homework Due 9/28:

Please do the following to help prepare for Friday's class:

1) Grades 4-8 review your character's lines in the script. Please note some of the lines may be changed, cut or reassigned.

2) FULL CAST should review/listen to the “Cinderella Dream Finale” song
